Fruit Tree Services

Fruit Trees

Dormant Oil sprays are not just for fruit trees it is beneficial for all shrubs and trees.

Fruit Tree Program

This program includes dormant oil and six sprays for protection against worms and damaging pests and begins two weeks after flower pedal drop and treatments are repeated every 14 to 18 days.

  • Stone Tree - Apple, Peach, Apricot, Pear for codling moths
  • Cherry Trees - Sweet or Sour for western fruit fly
  • Nut Trees - Walnuts for western husk fly

In order to protect your fruit, Rowberry's does insist on multiple spray program at properly timed throughout the season.  If treatment begins too late in the season or is interrupted by weather or customer's skips, the overall results of this service cannot be guaranteed.

Each type of tree requires a different program, insecticide treatment and spray frequency.  The timing of these programs are exact and it is most effective to contact Rowberry's as early in the season as possible to begin your season program.

Other diseases, fungus and pest problems to watch for are common aphids, wooley aphids, powder mildew, fireblight, spider mites, and iron deficency as well as water problems.  These problems are not covered under the worm protection spray program.

It is recommended that your trees be pruned annually while dormant and leaves are off.  We would be happy to place your trees on our maintenance program.  There are two methods of pruning: one for fruit production and the other for production and shade. Our crew would be happy to discuss which method you want.
